Team Game Development

Students will learn how to operate on a game development team while learning an entry level game development engine (Game Maker Studio 2). After learning the basics about the roles of Designer, Artist, and Programmer, students will pick a role and learn how to operate as a team, working with other students to create their own game. The first week of the class will have the students follow online tutorials to learn how to use their new engine, the second week the students will work together to create a game.

Note: Because this is a team-based course, there can be up to 24 students per class instead of Tech Time's usual 10 student limit.

Why It's Useful

Beyond some technical skills, students will gain experience in the human aspects of the game development industry and learn how they can pursue a future in game development.
