Discrete Math for Computer Science
Summary
This course introduces selected topics in Discrete Mathematics such as set theory, formal proofs, relations, and how they apply to computer science. Students will learn new concepts and then go over example problems with the class.
Why It's Useful
An understanding of Discrete Mathematics is extremely useful for anyone considering pursuing Computer Science or Mathematics in higher education. Knowledge of how to structure proofs allows a computer scientist to understand whether an how an algorithm correctly solves a particular problem, and is foundational to all further studies in computer science.
